Section 1 - Ordering
- How do I order?
There are 3 ways in which you can place an order with us depending on
the way you feel most comfortable with. These are as follows:
- Order online via our secure website
- Call 0115 9241 269 and speak to one of our friendly advisers, who will be able to answer your questions and arrange samples.
- Order via snail mail by printing off your 'Shopping Basket' and posting a cheque payable to

- What happens after I've placed my order?
In all cases you will receive a confirmation e-mail to the e-mail address you supplied. This e-mail will outline your order. If you have ordered one of our upholstered products, you will receive a paper order acknowledgment through the post. If you have any problems or have made a mistake on your order, please e-mail us immediately at sales@perfect-furniture.co.uk
Section 2 - Delivery
- How long does delivery take?
For smaller items, delivery is usually within 2 weeks of ordering. Upholstered products are made to order and are usually delivered within 6-8 weeks of ordering.
- Can you give me a specific time that my order will be delivered?
Smaller items will be delivered by one of our parcel delivery companies. When goods are despatched, they are usually on a next working day service. Somebody will have to be in to sign for the goods, otherwise a card will be left by the delivery company. For upholstered items, our delivery company usually delivers several orders in one area on the same load. Due to possible delays, we are unable to give a specific time slot. We will however give you a delivery day and an indication of whether the delivery is likely to be am or pm.
- What happens if I cannot take delivery?
If for some reason you are unable to take delivery on the agreed date, we must receive notification at least 24 hours beforehand, otherwise extra charges for a failed delivery and a second delivery may be liable.
- Who do I contact regarding delivery?
You can contact one of our sales team between office hours on 0115 9241 269. Any information will then be forwarded to our delivery company.
- What if my sofa doesn't fit?
As all upholstery is handmade to order, we cannot accept returns.
- Do you remove old sofas?
Our delivery company do not move or take away old sofas. Local councils can usually be contacted for the collection and disposal of old sofas.
- How much does delivery cost?
Some small items, typically lighting and accessories, are delivered FREE within the UK Mainland. Otherwise, delivery charges will be specified in each items description. For furniture items with an order value over £850, deliveries within Nottinghamshire are FREE of charge. We can arrange delivery to the rest of the UK Mainland, but there will be a delivery charge. - Do you deliver outside of the UK mainland?
Unfortunately we do not offer a delivery service outside of the UK Mainland.
Section 3 - Guarantees / Warranties
- What does your 15-year frame guarantee cover?
Our upholstered sofas and chairs come with a 15-year construction guarantee for the frame and springs only. In the unlikely event that your frame or springs develop a fault within 15 years, the sofa or chair will be collected and repaired at our cost.
Section 4 - Payment / Pricing
- How do I pay?
Payment via our website uses paypal. Paypal is a recognised online payment facilitator with very strict guidelines and security. Payment via paypal can be made using Visa, Delta, Mastercard and Switch. If you wish to pay by cheque, you can do so by printing off your 'shopping basket' and enclosing it with a cheque to the address above.
- Do you offer credit terms?
Sorry, we do not offer any credit terms.
- Do your prices include VAT?
All our prices include VAT at the applicable rate (currently 15%).
Section 5 - Misc
- Can I see samples of the fabrics or leather?
Please contact one of our sales advisors on 0115 9241 269 or e-mail sales@perfect-furniture.co.uk, and they will arrange for samples to be sent directly to your home.
- How do I maintain my cushion interiors?

- What is the martindale rub test?
All fabrics sold in the UK undergo this test to check their durability and suitability for various uses, i.e, curtains, domestic furniture, contract furniture. The test gives a score in 1000's of rubs, with general domestic having a rating of 20,000 rubs.
The technical details of the test are as follows:
A circular specimen, mounted in a specimen holder and subjected to a defined load, is rubbed against an abrasive medium (standard wool fabric) in a translational movement tracing a Lissajous figure, the specimen holder being additionally freely rotatable around its own axis perpendicular to the plane of the specimen. The normal end point of the test is when two threads are broken or in the case of pile fabrics when the pile has completely worn off. The inspection interval is dependent on the end point of the fabric and is usually every 1,000 up to 5,000 rubs, every 2,000 between 5,000 & 20,000 every 5,000 between 20,000 & 40,000 and every 10,000 above 40,000
- Does your furniture meet the UK furniture and fire regulations?
By law, all furniture sold in the UK must meet the stringent furniture and fire regulations. This involves everything from the foams and cushion fillings to the fabric. We regularly check test certificates and reports from all our suppliers to ensure that we comply with the regulations.
